On Pablum, Claw Hammer once again put hard rock and blues through the punk wringer. In comparison with 1992's Ramwhale, the songs are perhaps more concise and the album more cohesive as a whole, but that's not to say that things have been toned down for this release. On the contrary, although Pablum displays a more focused approach, it's infused with a greater measure of explosive energy than its predecessor. From the outset, as the band crashes unceremoniously into the frantic, staccato charge of "Vigil Smile," Pablum has a feel of managed mayhem. This is a band seemingly operating on the brink of sonic anarchy at all times. Indeed, that precarious balance between chaos and relative order is one of the most compelling features of Claw Hammer's sound. Throughout Pablum, the group achieves that balance with a combination of signature elements: Jon Wahl's verge-of-a-nervous-breakdown vocals, a guitar assault that often puts songs into overdrive and threatens to push them over the edge, and a talent for seamlessly integrated stop-start rhythms and bursts of sudden acceleration. Although abrupt shifts in intensity and pace are a crucial characteristic of Claw Hammer's often frenzied sound, there's also a more intricate dimension as the band incorporates changes in time signature. "Pablum on My Mind," for instance, occasionally breaks into a near sea shanty lilt that gives the number a playful, off-kilter flavor. On the album's standout track, "William Tell," Claw Hammer's more frazzled, manic tendencies are amplified by Wahl's punctuating blasts of harmonica. Those harp squalls lend a blistering, crazed feel that's entirely appropriate to the song's apparent subject matter -- William Burroughs' bizarre murder of his wife. All told, the title of Claw Hammer's fourth album is supremely ironic: Pablum is about as far from bland, insipid entertainment as you could get.

Fifteen renowned present-day bands from the Basque Country pay homage to THE DAMNED, in project promoted by Pookah Sound studio (Bilbao), where all tracks were recorded.
Everybody knows THE DAMNED is a seminal British punk band from 1977. On October 1976, the band released what is considered the first punk single, also released the first punk album and was the first British punk band to tour the US. In discrepancy with the mediatic chaos of the Pistols and the militant commitment of the Clash, from the start, The Damned was more concerned in making the kids bounce nonstop at the gigs. In addition, and despite being dedicated punk rockers, they have always been somehow embedded in the tradition of rock ’n’ roll. Since the beginning, they acknowledged their devotion to the Detroit rock of the late '60s and early '70s, sought the services of a member of Pink Floyd as a producer, and proclaimed their fervour for the Nuggets' garage punk sounds.
It is no wonder that THE DAMNED's influence crosses the barriers of time and musical styles. Traditional and evolved punk rockers, garage fans, post-punkers, HC fans, psychedelics, metalheads... find a place of shelter and stimulus in the music of Londoners.
As outcome of that vital impulse, the LP FAN CLUB, TRIBUTE TO THE DAMMED, A BASQUE COUNTRY COMPILATION is releasedin glorious vinyl in this post-pandemic 2022. Fifteen Basque bands threw themselves headlong into the project without thinking twice. Each of them in a specific frenzy outburst, displaying total systemic enthusiasm, but all with a driving conviction. The majority of the songs chosen by the bands/fans to be revisited are from the classic period that goes from "New Rose” (1976) to the album "Phantasmagoria" (1985), although we can also find three celebrations from the decade of the 90s and the first decade of the new millennium.

Last April, the Crust Punk and Sludge Metal band HONGO brought us a live work entitled Live To Ruin. A title, and a cover in clear homage to The Ramones. A live album lasting just over 40 minutes, where David, Ernesto, Villakampa and Iván gut seven cuts full of distortion and guttural sounds. Underground extreme metal, with tons of attitude and rage.

Captain Entresijos continues to be governed by four basic principles: 1. Believe in what you do 2. Be true to your principles 3. Work hard 4. Never give up! It is going to be difficult that the Captain does not take advantage of this extra ball to make new games and keep calling one round after another. Round hits like 'Cervezas y Pinballs' a great tribute to two of his favorite hobbies, 'Suancesburg' a critique of artistic posture or 'Space Travel' that takes you into the bowels of a cosmonaut in crisis. This and more is what we find in "Extra Ball"

After twenty years of records and intense live shows, Señor No are one of the best punk rock and high energy combos in Europe. Thyis record is another brick in the wall.

Terbutalina presents ‘ESPABILA GALLEGO’, its new LP, recorded and produced at the “A Ponte” studios by Tomás Ageitos. A work in which those from Esteiro (Muros) transport us to the Atlantic sound of the Costa da Morte, with verses full of retranca such as 'Pura Makica', 'Muinheira de Costa' and 'Marisco Barato', songs that, along with the rest of the album, they range from punk to pop and from rock to traditional Galician music. This group from Esteiro comes from touring his rock & roll festivals like ‘Son Do Camiño’, ‘Fuzzville’, ‘Son Rías Baixas’ and a long etc. Places where they shared a poster with names like ‘Total Sinister’ or ‘Manu Chao’. In 2014 they won the “Award for Best Galician Album” at the “Premios de la Música Independente” with their album ‘A MUERTE’. In 2015 they released ‘AL OTOMANO SE LE VA LA MANO’, recorded by Tomás Ageitos at “A Ponte” studios and mastered by Jim Diamond (‘The White Stripes’, ‘The Sonics’…). With their collaboration with the theater company ‘Chévere’ in the play ‘Eroski-Paraíso’ they won the “2017 María Casares Award” for “Best Original Music”. So do not hesitate and go for the dance!

If you'd been a baker for more than 50 years, you could be forgiven for being sick of the sight of chocolate éclairs. Similarly, a half-century on from the first Stooges album, Iggy Pop has made it clear he's not as in love with rock & roll as he once was. Albums such as 2009's Preliminaires and 2012's Après have found him exploring less aggressive and more thoughtful material, and Iggy continues this trend with 2019's Free. In his liner notes, Iggy writes, "I began to recoil from guitar riffs in favor of guitarscapes, from twangs in favor of horns, from back beat in favor of space," and that's a concise and accurate summary of the sound he approaches on this album. While there are electric guitars on most of these numbers, there's little in the way of fuzz or bark, and a ghostly trumpet and waves of atmospheric keyboards play a much bigger role in the arrangements. Iggy had a hand in writing three of the tracks on Free, but most of the songs were penned by his primarily collaborators on this album, trumpeter Leron Thomas and Noveller, who is credited with "guitarscapes." There are a few playful moments, most notably on the sly and slinky "James Bond," but for the most part, Free finds Iggy contemplating a culture caught in a tailspin, and while no one would have expected the guy singing on Fun House to set Dylan Thomas' "Do Not Go Gentle into That Good Night" to music back in the day, here his deep, craggy voice and tone of weary rage fits the classic verse like a glove. Not everything on this album works, and the sex and porn rant "Dirty Sanchez" may be the stupidest thing Iggy has sung since 2001's misbegotten Beat Em Up, though at least take comfort in the fact he didn't write it. As a detour from rock & roll, Free is a fine and compelling study of the mind and mood of Iggy Pop at the age of 72, and if it's clearly the work of an older artist, that works to its favor, a pointed contrast to the abandon of his youth but with no less gravitas.

From Barcelona, the Ciutat Podrida that La Trapera used to say, we get the second full length (first with Family Spree Recordings) of these four crazy people from different parts of the globe (at the height of cosmopolitanism they are even capable of having a member of Valladolid ) who have found in this band a way to vent their frustrations, release their libido, exorcise their demons and give up (soft) drugs.

Rober Perdut's new album is already rolling through the streets of Madrid. Rolling it has ended up in the garage of my computer, from which via two powerful Goodmans loudspeakers (forty years old, and the partitions still sag) right now it shakes my eardrums overwhelmed with joy. How long has it been since I heard a dose of good rock! And not only good, but I would say better: better is this album, by far, than Perdut's previous one, despite how promising it was (if such an insult can be dispensed to the work of this veteran piece) that superb vinyl produced by Miguel Marcos Fernández, Salmos del cable. But here Roberto, with the inestimable help (you can see it in every groove) from José Ramón Millán Díez el Goma and a group made up of Pilar Román, Iván Santana, Esteban Picó Raju, Luis Lasso and Lola Román (who can only be qualified - and à la mode estaremos— de brutal), takes a gigantic step forward, riding an impeccably dirty production of thick and yet fibrous seventies sonic jam that gently rips the head off the listener's brains. Perdut's voice struggles less, gains in professionalism, in cold control, in a sardonic act of peeling this acid and grainy onion in whose heart the registers of Iggy Pop and the sophisticated street dryness of the best Lou Reed appear. Garage bands, sounds reminiscent of punk, but also Low Budget's Ray Davies (that Kinks' masterpiece, from just before the eighties broke), a saxophone that seems to have come from the Bottom Line on which Reed billed his stunning Take No Prisoners with the best combo he ever had, which was the Everyman Band (ah, Fonfara! Michael Suchorsky!), And the enveloping syllabic, persuasive, caressing like a worn lime, of Roberto's vocal work, lead us to the seventh door of bliss, from the very beginning of this little gem, roughly polished, which is All of nothing

We have co-edited the bands with the sweatiest sound on the Madrid scene, which are released on a beautiful 10" 9-song record at 45 rpm and the first copies include a CD with all the songs. Nitropollo is a band formed in 2016 by seasoned musicians in the Madrid hardcore punk scene in bands like Wipe Out Skaters, Zinc or Espamodicos, among others. For their debut they bring us 5 songs that combine melody and speed (between 1 and 2 and a half minutes), with all the freshness of their intense and energetic live show. With special collaboration of Dulze (Zinc, Vecchias) Zero5 is a high energy rock'n'roll band from Móstoles, formed in 2005. Our music draws from the influence of the surf music of the Beach Boys or Dick Dale in terms of vocal melodies, but getting closer in terms of execution to groups like our beloved Los Summers, Airbag, F.A.N.T.A. or The Queers. “Tinplate Pura”, Escombros's first album, is a piece of rusty iron that someone found dumped in a park in San Blas. If it could be punctured, it would sound crude like the groups from El Rollo (that which was in Madrid before the neons and plexiglass), with the Coz in the lead, it would sound dirty like La Trapera and it would sound pissed but also proud, at times Cicatriz, at times. Illegal times. Jorge Illegal himself appears in the last seconds of “Que suene rock & roll”, just before the monologue by David El Gnomo (the gnomologist?) Who opens “A pear is not a fig”. The first one talks about garbage; the second, of destruction. All this concrete mixer of references, and some more, make up the debut album of Escombros (FOLC Records, 2021), his first full length after a great self-released EP. “Tinplate Pura” are nine songs in which the angry voice of its singer, Miguel, stands out, accompanied by a solid rock and roll punk band, call it Xs, but where strength and speed are the norm. Nine songs about the eternal struggle of sanity against chaos, with the street and bars as a natural ecosystem. Let rock and roll play in the middle of this fair. " Facefist's Text Around 2013, Miguel (voice and guitar) and Fede (drums), initial members of the band, decided to meet up to play, mainly as an escape valve. From these rehearsals, the band becomes an experiment in which different approaches to Rock and Roll are exchanged. The resulting sound dump -in addition to a recreation area- begins to serve as a landfill from which to rescue rock possibilities that have been falling into disuse. For example, what Leño said about "Rock and Roll is an art, what a disappointment" could be one of those valuable residues. Since then, after having tried different formations with friends, they started in a trio format, with the demo “Tranquilamente Nervioso” in 2014. Shortly after a second guitar is incorporated who also played in the group of his former bassist. With this quartet formation, they recorded the EP “Escombros”, which was released in 2016, and this last LP “Tinplate Pura” in 2019/2020. They have had several side projects. On the one hand Miguel and Fede come from the group Costra Rap. On the other, Carlos and Sanet played in Persons; Edu, bassist from the primary stage of Escombros, Sanet and Fede also coincided in a sticky Garage band, Blandi Blues. Today Sergio plays with them, who also belongs to Dictadores de Operetta, Cordón Sanitario and Navaja.

The Roxies are a band from Berlin, their singer Matthew is originally from Yorkshire, England. He met the rest of the band through a flyer at a Kreuzberg dive bar in 2018. Since then they've been writing songs and putting their different musical backgrounds together, playing loud from inside an ex-Launderette in one of Berlin's backyards. Musically drawing influences from ’77 Punk Rock, Garage, Post Punk, Power Pop, ... The Roxies are all about spreading the love and playing energetic fun shows. 2019 they self-released their debut single "The Roxies Are Coming". After a mini-tour in Northern England in 2020 they recorded their first full-length album "Don't Wanna Dance Because I'm Told To". The title quotes the first line of the opening song of the record. The album has a real feel of a band putting down everything that they have: Songs range from a Punk Rock belter to a Pop grower to a New Wave groover. Lyrics that focus on contemporary life, personal demons, social and political problems, whilst also getting ready for a party – what more do you need for a jam-packed introduction of a band? The record cover shows one of The Roxies' flyers sticking on a scruffy chewing gum machine. With the inner sleeve featuring drawings and all the song lyrics hand-typed, you get a piece of DIY art that the band loves to create.

Cazacús come from Galicia. Something not very difficult to guess because they sing in Galician. They were born in 2019, a bad year to do it, because when they were already beginning to have songs and shoot, the pandemic confined them to their homes. Band influenced by the classics of British punk, Basque radical rock (I'm sure you'll often hear echoes of La Polla in some of their songs) and the Galician scene of the 90s/2000s, and they are children of the TVG program Xabarin, which Despite being children's content, it gave space to Siniestro Total, Antón Reixa, Killer Barbie, Diplomáticos de Montealto,... and a host of additional stimulating bands. The band is linked to Galician social centers and especially to the O Fusalho Social Center in A Guarda and is strongly involved in social movements, as the lyrics of their songs show. They come from seafaring families and that's where the name of the band comes from. The Cazacú is a dogfish (small shark), whose name would translate as "ass chaser" in Spanish. Get ready for yours to be hunted!!! Cazacus is here!

The Extroverts are one of those true punk-power pop gems unknown to the mainstream public, but not forgotten by those who remember their old days back in 1979-1982, when they shared the same bill with the likes of D.O.A, Subhumans (CA) and other Canadian punk rock favourites.From the Canadian city of Regina, Saskatchewan, they released just one single at the time. But when they reformed in 2009, they began writing "new" songs with unused, unchanged lyrics written by lyricist Brent Caron in the late 70's, paired with music created by the current day Extroverts, and they recorded them in really good sound quality. Think about the best Exploding Hearts, Pointed Sticks, The Nerves or The Real Kids and you'll get a close picture of these twelve explosive bombs of punk rock and power pop.Only 200 copies in black vinyl.

Recorded in 1973 in their hometown of Detroit, the Stooges continue their tradition of raw and wild energy in studio as well on stage. Quartet composed of the cult Iggy Pop, the Asheton brothers (Ron & Scott) & James Williamson.

In 1996, Bonzos released their first album, 341 Broome St., recorded in NY and produced by Andy Shernoff. A burst of 12 Ramonian punk songs lasting barely half an hour, full of immediate hits and that took on a special importance when the band defended them on stage. A masterpiece of national punk rock, due to the addiction of its melodies, its forceful punch and the freshness that it distilled from the first to the last theme. In 2021 this album turned 25 years old, and Juancar Parlange, Bonzos's alma mater, wanted to celebrate it doubly: firstly, with a reissue on vinyl from 341 Broome St (of the original vinyl run made by Roto Records, barely 5 copies are known since, due to some strange maneuver yet to be unraveled, the whereabouts of the rest of the discs are unknown). And as a climax, and recovering the youthful and unrestrained spirit of that their 1st album, they entered the studio of Martín Cápsula (Silver Recordings) to record the 18 songs that make up this latest production "Songs about cars, girls & broken hearts", returning to the line-up of 3 members (guitar, bass, drums), backed by two mythical figures from the Bilbao scene (Jorge Murillo on bass and Ricky Ibáñez on drums), published on digital platforms in mid-2021 and which, now finally , you have available on vinyl, in the format in which a jewel like this should last. Juancar Parlange describes the vital moment in which he found himself when he decided to undertake this project: "It was the moment to return home musically", in reference to recovering the essence of that first album and doing it in the places of his youth, in the Getxo of its musical origins, closing the circle that was opened with 341 Broome St, to prepare for the next musical adventures that its restless spirit will undoubtedly already be giving birth to. But for now, it's time to enjoy this "Songs about cars, girls & broken hearts" and defend it live. And it gives to do it a lot and very well.

Reissue on vinyl (for the first time in this format) of the 2 disc published in 1999 by the Asturian band The Feedbacks. 'Speedway' only saw the light on CD and had a version for the Japanese market, both of which cannot be found today. at unbridled speed, invoking revelry, fun and bitter adolescent loves, making it clear that this promised, and although his first LP 'Ready, steady, bang' corroborated it, without a doubt the 'Speedway' was the first round album of the band. The same punk spirit wrapping a bunch of glorious songs with a great pop spirit.

First official reissue of the first Punk DIY release ever!

Originally released on Munster in 1990, "Más suicidios" was the first LP by this band from Majorca who in the late 80s revived the original punk rock genre in Spain. Featuring the band's own compositions, with echoes of Black Flag, Heartbreakers or Replacements, plus a Controllers cover ('Another Day'). Especially remastered for this reissue. In 1990 Munster Records released "Más suicidios" by Cerebros Exprimidos, one of the label's first albums. The band from Majorca had reached beyond their island's borders with a mini-LP on Romilar-D and a cassette which compiled their early demos. They were making a name for themselves within the punk scene thanks to a personal style which blended proto-punk with a classic '77 sound and California punk. At the time there were no other bands in Spain paying tribute to Controllers. The album, despite a demo-like sound (it was recorded by Vicente Caldentell, an experienced musician who had been a member of Z-66), showed a band that walked confidently between punk and early hardcore. The recent addition of bass player Cañete, who came from bands with a faster sound, had provided an extra strength which allowed guitar player Juanmi to unleash his special style that drew equally from Black and The New York Dolls. Jaume's straightforward vocals told stories of maladjustment, rage and cocky attitude. Sleeved in a lysergic cover by Josetxo Ezponda (Los Bichos), the album was almost unanimously received by the press as a breath of fresh air. However, the reception within the most traditional sectors of their own scene was a little colder: too punk rock for hardcore fans, too hardcore for lovers of classic punk rock. Nevertheless, the LP planted a seed which would grow over their next two albums, "Bonzomania" and "Demencia", which along "Más suicidios" would form the holy trinity of the genre in Spain. 25 years later, Munster reissues this piece of history where some guys from Palma managed to shake their island and be the centre of attention thanks to the everyday stories of their raw and direct songs.

One gets the feeling from the title and cover art alone that if the Cramps could have released this live document in Glorious Smell-o-rama they would have jumped at the chance. Even without it one can almost sense the whiffs of perspiration and energy the group was cooking up; recorded at New York's Peppermint Lounge withPowers on guitar, the quartet slams out a then mostly entirely new set of songs with, as expected, appropriate covers as needed. The wonderfully profane take on Hasil Adkins' "She Said" surfaces here, with Interiorsounding like he's about to die more than once. The Count Five's "Psychotic Reaction" and the perfectly appropriate "Faster Pussycat," taken from the legendary Russ Meyer film of the same name, also give the band more than a little something to chew on. As for the originals, the usual mess of swampy rockabilly and industrial strength noise comes together in just the right way from the start. "Thee Most Exalted Potentate of Love" gives Interior the chance to do his undead but still wired loveman thang right from the start, while Ivyand Powers hit the twang hard and Knox keeps everything going just right. "Call of the Wighat" is another highpoint, with Knox showing that he's up to more involved pounding and percussion when the need arises. A studio cut, "Surfin' Dead," surfaces as a ringer at the end; if not quite the Cramps go Beach Boys, it arguably forecasts the Jesus and Mary Chain's "Kill Surf City" just enough.

The origin of Barricada dates back to the end of 1981. Their powerful stage performance enabled them to win over fans quickly and to release their first album in 1983. The album was recorded in just two days, giving it a live and spontaneous feel that exudes rock and roll.
