Continuing our reissue programme of Motorhead's Chiswick albums on vinyl, September sees the release of "What's Words Worth_" on lobster red vinyl. A live album, it was recorded on 18th February 1978 at a benefit organised by Wilko Johnson to raise money to preserve some William Wordsworth manuscripts. The Rolling Stones mobile had been hired to record Chiswick labe/lmates the Count Bishops, but they also recorded Motorhead's set. For contractual reasons they were billed as Iron Fist ^ the Hordes From Hell. Includes an illustrated inner sleeve with a full note by Chiswick boss Ted Carroll.

Reedition of their classic album from 1979 with an extra vinyl with previously unreleased stuff.

Swedish band KAMCHATKA was formed back in 2005. "The Search Goes On" is their 5th album and Per Wiberg (Opeth, Candlemass, Spiritual Beggars) joining their ranks on bass and vocals. Thomas Andersson's guitar playing is mainly riff based and is considered highly inspired by Jimi Hendrix and Robin Trower, therefore KAMCHATKA are often compared to heavy blues-rock bands active in the late 1960s and early 1970s like The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Led Zeppelin and Cream. The band has been labeled hard rock, stoner rock, jam band, power trio and blues-rock.

Grunge, hard rock and rock and roll ala Mother Love Bone, Temple  of the Dog and early Pearl Jam.

Last April, the Crust Punk and Sludge Metal band HONGO brought us a live work entitled Live To Ruin. A title, and a cover in clear homage to The Ramones. A live album lasting just over 40 minutes, where David, Ernesto, Villakampa and Iván gut seven cuts full of distortion and guttural sounds. Underground extreme metal, with tons of attitude and rage.

A conceptual album that is presented as a monograph on the ego both in its personal and social manifestations. A little less than two years old and with some line-up changes, the band delves into the mix of different alternative vibrations such as post-hardcore, noise or math-rock, as well as an evident punk vocation. Raw and stark, its metallic sounds try to create the right atmosphere in each of the songs full of rage that it contains inside. Philosophy and noise, a lot of noise, which places them in the filthiest and darkest space within the national alternative scene. A controlled chaos, or not, but certainly a chaos in which they function like fish in water and are even more experimental than in their previous work.

It never fails, each new Clutch work is a safe asset, and this "Book Of Bad Decisions" is no exception.

With a long musical career of more than 25 years and 12 albums in the studio, we can say that the band is in one of its best moments of creativity and popularity, hence the expectation for the new release is maximum.

"Books Of Bad Decisions" has been recorded at Sputnik Sound Studios in Nashville by the prestigious producer, engineer and mixer, winner of several Grammys, Vance Powell (Red Fang, Jack White, Buddy Guy…). Recorded old-fashioned with vintage gear, the result is a raw, organic sound. A superb production that enhances the groove of the band and induces us to discover a thousand and one nuances.

It is possible that the band has lost in intensity and fierceness, but there is no doubt that they have gained in eclepticism and musicality. Stoner, Hard rock, Funk, Psychedelia, Southern ..., an amalgam of sensations and sounds that nevertheless merges into an unmistakable Clutch sound.

There are many remarkable themes. Authentic cannon shots like "Gimme the Keys", "How to Shake Hands" or "Weird Times" (with that John Bonham drumming).

Atmospheric halftimes like "Spirit of '76", with that delicious chorus, "Book of Bad Decisions" dominated by a saturated bass sound, or the enigmatic "Emily Dickinson".

We also have the pure rock n 'roll of "Weird Times" (what a rhythm of keyboards and drums!)

Even in the Funk of "In Walks Barbarella" these guys embroider it.

The only but that a priori could be found in this work is its long duration, with no less than 15 songs and that could lower the average quality of the work. However, after the expendable "Ghoul Wrangler" and "H.B. Is in Control ”, the album surprises us with 3 absolutely incredible final songs.

Or is it that that kind of swampy blues rock that is "Hot Bottom Feeder" is not totally amazing.

"Paper & Strife" is not far behind (which together with the aforementioned "Hot Bottom Feeder" is where the album's great production is best appreciated).

The last cut is "Lorelei", the longest of the entire LP, which gives off an atmosphere and intensity that seems to be taken from Monster Magnet's "Last Patrol".

Clutch have done it again. Only time will tell if "Book of Bad Decisions" is better than this or that album by the band, but what I am sure of is that this is one of the best collections of songs that Maryland has ever composed.

Bertie Page Clinic is the dirty cousin-love of burlesque and classic rock.  Australian cabaret star Bertie Page heads up this wicked little band of retrograde rockers.

The origin of Barricada dates back to the end of 1981. Their powerful stage performance enabled them to win over fans quickly and to release their first album in 1983. The album was recorded in just two days, giving it a live and spontaneous feel that exudes rock and roll.

Named for the city that launched the original Alice Cooper group on the road to success, “Detroit Stories” follows last year’s “Breadcrumbs” EP as a modern-day homage to the toughest and craziest Rock n Roll scene there ever was.
In 1970, fledgling producer Bob Ezrin walked into a farmhouse on the outskirts of Detroit to work with the Alice Cooper band. Abandoning flower power Los Angeles, because they were the opposite of the hippie peace and love ideal, Alice had brought his decidedly darker gang back to his birthplace to the legendary rock scene that gave birth to hard rock, garage rock, soul, funk, punk...and more.
Ezrin drilled the band for 10 hours a day to define their signature sound.  Whenever they nailed a song, the inmates at the hospital for the criminally insane across the road cheered and thus the classic Alice Cooper sound was born.
“Los Angeles had its sound with The Doors, Love and Buffalo Springfield,” says Alice Cooper, “San Francisco had the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane. New York had The Rascals and The Velvet Underground. But Detroit was the birthplace of angry hard rock. After not fitting in anywhere in the US (musically or image wise) Detroit was the only place that recognized the Alice Cooper guitar driven, hard rock sound and our crazy stage show. Detroit was a haven for the outcasts. And when they found out I was born in East Detroit... we were home.”
50 years later Alice and Ezrin gathered some legendary Detroit musicians in a Detroit studio to record Detroit Stories, Alice Cooper’s new album that celebrates that spirit for a new era.  If 2019’s “Breadcrumbs” EP laid down the trail to the city, Detroit Stories drives like a muscle car right down Woodward Ave.

This deluxe triple LP release features three rare live performances by the legendary band AC/DC. The performance on disc one, "Cleveland Rocks", was recorded At The Agora Ballroom, Cleveland, Ohio, on August 22nd 1977. Disc two, "Boston Rocks", was recorded At The Paradise Theatre, Boston, MA, on the 21st of August 1978 and finally disc three, "Columbus Rocks", was recorded at the Veterans’ Memorial Coliseum, Columbus, OH, on September 10th 1978.
