The SF Sorrow deluxe vinyl box set features four 12" LPs, four rare European 1960s picture sleeve 7” singles, and handwritten recollections from Phil May, Dick Taylor, Jon Povey and Wally Waller on individually signed inserts.

The first two LPs feature the mono and stereo versions of the album cut from the original Abbey Road master tapes packaged in facsimile versions of the original UK gatefold and USA 'Tombstone' sleeves respectively. The third and fourth LPs comprise a 2LP set of the 1998 Live At Abbey Road anniversary recording with David Gilmour and Arthur Brown on vinyl for the very first time.

The Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival (Sitges Festival for short) publishes this year as an official book a work by our journalist (and nevertheless friend) Pacus González Centeno, entitled "Three pieces for the murderer: Jazz, rock and electronics in crime and horror cinema ", in which he analyzes chronologically, decade by decade, the relationship between popular music styles and the main genre film styles of the 2nd half of the 20th century. Pacus had the brilliant (and crazy) idea of complementing the edition of the book with a disc of versions of some of the songs shelled in the book performed by bands from our current underground scene, and he raised the proposal to Family Spree Recordings, with the aim to collaborate in the selection of the songs, enrollment of the bands and coordination of all the actions necessary for the project to see the light. The idea was hatched in the form of a double LP and with the title "Kong'n'roll - 26 rock'n'roll bands tribute to the Sitges Horror Film Festival" and has the participation of 26 bands performing masterfully songs included in some of the films that formed the soundtrack of any of the selected films. And its edition will take place under the new label "Sawyer Family Party", to inaugurate a saga of future online projects different from that of its parent label.

WarPaint Live finds the Black Crowes running through their 2008 comeback Warpaint in its entirety during a gig in Los Angeles, adding a five-song coda of covers and Crowes classics. Warpaint was a reunion and revitalization for the Black Crowes, their best album in a long time, and much of that renewed energy can be heard in this performance, which manages to be loose and tight, the work of a band comfortable in its own skin and strength. Apart from the closing covers, highlighted by a coolly confident "Torn and Frayed" and a raucous "Hey Grandma," surprises are a bit hard to come by, but that's not a problem because the band never sounds tired; they're engaged, so it's hard not to be swept up in their enthusiasm too.

This is a deadly serious art piece, accordingly trippy in all its aspects, full of strangeness and sheer beauty.

Arthur Lee was a famously mercurial bandleader. He turned down the Monterey Pop Festival, Woodstock and the Ed Sullivan Show, believing his music should have top billing or none at all. His hardline go-it-alone policy ensured Love’s cult status for all time. But he was as chaotic as he was dogmatic: he once sacked a Love guitarist (Jay Donnellan) for suggesting the band should aim to arrive at gigs more promptly – or at least on the day they were scheduled to take place – and those kind of old habits die hard. At London’s Highbury Garage in 1994, Lee went AWOL minutes before he was due onstage. A search party found him playing pool in a pub on the Holloway Road, oblivious to the panic he was causing.

A life lived by its own rules can be a frustrating one to compile for posterity. No live recordings circulate of Love from the ’60s – their heyday of Da Capo and Forever Changes – because Lee wouldn’t permit concerts to be taped. Coming Through To You, a 4CD boxset that attempts to document the best of what’s out there, has no choice but to begin in 1970, when the classic Love lineup had disintegrated and a new Love was exploring a heavier direction. That February, Lee allowed them to share a Fillmore East bill with the Grateful Dead and The Allman Brothers; the next stop was England, where fans expecting the beatific splendour of Forever Changes had to adjust to a long-haired Love more reminiscent of Hendrix’s “Crosstown Traffic”.

Eight of the 14 songs on the first disc have been released before – either on Studio/Live (1982) or The Blue Thumb Recordings (2007) – but six from Copenhagen and the Fillmore West, while known to bootleggers, are previously unissued. None would score high on subtlety. Sensitive listeners may quail at a turbo-charged “Bummer In The Summer” (at Waltham Forest Technical College), but that’s got to be better, surely, than Lee’s off-key caterwauling on “Good Times” in Denmark a fortnight later. As for his grunts and screeches at the Fillmore West, he sounds like he wishes he was fronting Steppenwolf.

Named for the city that launched the original Alice Cooper group on the road to success, “Detroit Stories” follows last year’s “Breadcrumbs” EP as a modern-day homage to the toughest and craziest Rock n Roll scene there ever was.
In 1970, fledgling producer Bob Ezrin walked into a farmhouse on the outskirts of Detroit to work with the Alice Cooper band. Abandoning flower power Los Angeles, because they were the opposite of the hippie peace and love ideal, Alice had brought his decidedly darker gang back to his birthplace to the legendary rock scene that gave birth to hard rock, garage rock, soul, funk, punk...and more.
Ezrin drilled the band for 10 hours a day to define their signature sound.  Whenever they nailed a song, the inmates at the hospital for the criminally insane across the road cheered and thus the classic Alice Cooper sound was born.
“Los Angeles had its sound with The Doors, Love and Buffalo Springfield,” says Alice Cooper, “San Francisco had the Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane. New York had The Rascals and The Velvet Underground. But Detroit was the birthplace of angry hard rock. After not fitting in anywhere in the US (musically or image wise) Detroit was the only place that recognized the Alice Cooper guitar driven, hard rock sound and our crazy stage show. Detroit was a haven for the outcasts. And when they found out I was born in East Detroit... we were home.”
50 years later Alice and Ezrin gathered some legendary Detroit musicians in a Detroit studio to record Detroit Stories, Alice Cooper’s new album that celebrates that spirit for a new era.  If 2019’s “Breadcrumbs” EP laid down the trail to the city, Detroit Stories drives like a muscle car right down Woodward Ave.

This deluxe triple LP release features three rare live performances by the legendary band AC/DC. The performance on disc one, "Cleveland Rocks", was recorded At The Agora Ballroom, Cleveland, Ohio, on August 22nd 1977. Disc two, "Boston Rocks", was recorded At The Paradise Theatre, Boston, MA, on the 21st of August 1978 and finally disc three, "Columbus Rocks", was recorded at the Veterans’ Memorial Coliseum, Columbus, OH, on September 10th 1978.
