Quick Overview

Warsaw Pakt's only LP, Needle Time (recently reissued by Munster) remains one of the most authoritative documents of the raw, visceral sound of London punk rock in 1977. Although its sound also exudes aromas of high-octane British R&B. The songs included in this single are previous and studio versions of two of the best tracks from their Needle Time and emit energy levels similar to those displayed by the band on stage. Warsaw Pakt practiced a revolutionary formula based on smart and tough street lyrics interpreted with speed and attitude, faced with overloaded Chuck Berry guitars, a modus operandi very similar to the MC5 of the Back in the USA era, but with a tone more in keeping with the pubs and squats of his London borough, Ladbroke Grove. Their sound exudes aromas of high octane British R&B but with a patina of punk rock, inherited from their past as The Rockets. His LP Needle Time (recently reissued by Munster) remains one of the most authoritative documents of the raw and visceral sound of London punk rock in 1977. The songs included in this single are previous and studio versions of two of the best tracks from their Needle Time and emit energy levels similar to those displayed by the band on stage. The fast and furious 'Lorraine' was recorded at Milner Sound studios on Fulham Road (in August 1977) with the group's lead drummer, Wolf Marlander. 'Dogfight' -on the other side- belongs to the first recording session that the group did, a month before, at the Island Records studios.
