Quick Overview

They arrive from the Canary Islands riding a great wave brimming with volcanic and wild instrumental surf, a masked trio formed by Mr. Rosa (drums), Mr. Verde (bass), and Mr. Rojo (guitar). The Bucannan have an extensive tour of Canarian venues and festivals. In 2008 they received the award "Revelation Group of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria" within the band contest "La Caja Sonora", and have shared the bill with bands such as Sex Museum, Al Dual, or the British The Jets, among others Their sound is an ultra-vitamin cocktail with three essential ingredients: sharp guitar infused with abundant reverb, wild drums with cave rhythms, and hypnotic bass. Its formula contains everything necessary to be the soundtrack of a dizzying action movie with suicide chases. Among his influences we can highlight groups and artists such as Dick Dale, Link Wray, The Cramps, The Trashmen, The Gories, The Straitjackets and Lost Acapulco. His first self-titled EP lands via Sweet Grooves Record (SWEET046) and Family Spree Recordings (FSR062) on 7 ”vinyl, containing four fierce, cavernous and reverberated cuts. The album was recorded at La Caterva studios (Gran Canaria) under the orders of Jose A. López, the recording was made live with the purpose of capturing the real sound of the band, primitive and wild. The first track on the album, “Tsunami”, is a whirlwind of reverb with an untamable drums that will invite you to ride a great infernal wave, followed by “El Santo”, the second track that hits hard and without compassion, a tribute to the “masked de plata ”, the emblematic Mexican wrestler. Side B of the album will transport you to a movie with a horror-surf setting spiced up with psychobilly. “Zombie Surfers” and “Tranvía asesino” finish off the album by making their intentions very clear, they are not a purist intro-surf band and their main objective is to turn each concert into a wild beach party, cowabunga !.
