Quick Overview

"A little over a year ago, Jíbaros surprised us with" Parranda ", their second reference. A single composed of two songs that denoted a certain change in their sound and that gave us a clue of where the paths could go in the future LP. "Dyslexia" is that LP, an album illuminated by the union of five national labels: Sweet Grooves, Hurray !, KOTJ ,, Delia and Snap! Recorded and mixed by Pepe Bermejo and mastered by Raúl Martínez in Klangstudio 7, "Dyslexia "It is the door through which new visitors enter the house of these Madrilenians. Jíbaros continues to be that shameless and energetic band, a quartet that feeds on the vitamin of the New Wave and the urgency of punk, but without losing never seen the melody. Their proposal is contagious, accurate and they interpret it brilliantly. But in their second album they flee from common places and continuous discourses and allow themselves to be caressed by the darker, harsher and harsh side of pop. That is the dyslexia to which they allude (and what The album cover, by Víctor VS) captures so well the alteration produced in the listener by the impact between the luminosity of songs like "I have you" or "Tropical Rhythm" and the murky poison of cuts like "World War" , "Shoot to kill" or "The trouble factory". Far from collapsing or squeaking, the Jekyll and Hyde of "Dyslexia" blend and understand each other wonderfully, resulting in an enjoyable but mature album, addictive but thoughtful. Buzzcocks, T-Rex or Elvis Costello continue to inhabit the new Jíbaros LP, but the Only Ones have registered in the same building. 12 own songs with superb guitar work and inspired voices that will surely make "Dyslexia" one of the best national albums of this 2019. Bravo, Jíbaros!
