  1. VARIOS Kong'n'Roll (26 Rock'N'Roll Bands Tribute To... (LP)

VARIOS Kong'n'Roll (26 Rock'N'Roll Bands Tribute To... (LP)

The Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival (Sitges Festival for short) publishes this year as an official book a work by our journalist (and nevertheless friend) Pacus González Centeno, entitled "Three pieces for the murderer: Jazz, rock and electronics in crime and horror cinema ", in which he analyzes chronologically, decade by decade, the relationship between popular music styles and the main genre film styles of the 2nd half of the 20th century. Pacus had the brilliant (and crazy) idea of complementing the edition of the book with a disc of versions of some of the songs shelled in the book performed by bands from our current underground scene, and he raised the proposal to Family Spree Recordings, with the aim to collaborate in the selection of the songs, enrollment of the bands and coordination of all the actions necessary for the project to see the light. The idea was hatched in the form of a double LP and with the title "Kong'n'roll - 26 rock'n'roll bands tribute to the Sitges Horror Film Festival" and has the participation of 26 bands performing masterfully songs included in some of the films that formed the soundtrack of any of the selected films. And its edition will take place under the new label "Sawyer Family Party", to inaugurate a saga of future online projects different from that of its parent label.

  3. THIRD EAR BAND Music From Macbeth (LP)

THIRD EAR BAND Music From Macbeth (LP)

Commissioned by the acclaimed film director Roman Polanski, the English cult band Third Ear Band faced the challenge in order to insert a hell of imagination and creativity to his very own, author cinematographic version of Macbeth, a play by William Shakespeare. The resulting 44 minutes of imaginative sounds, divided in 16 outstanding pieces, is an astonishing example of an archaic, twisted, abstract psychedelia, rooted on medieval and classical textures. A Monster-Munster gem!

  5. ELVIS PRESLEY At The Movies (LP)

ELVIS PRESLEY At The Movies (LP)

Elvis Presley, the all time biggest music star needs little introduction. He was, of course, The King of Rock & Roll. Elvis was also a film star. He had already achieved his first big musical hits when he followed the path marked by his idols James Dean and Marlon Brando. Colonel Tom Parker pulled some strings and got him a screen test for Paramount Pictures. Next step was a contract with Hal Wallis and soon Elvis first film, Love Me Tender, was released. Throughout his career Elvis would appear in more than 30 movies and several TV shows. The present LP compiles some of the best tracks from the soundtracks of his early movies, those filmed between 1956 and 1960: Love Me Tender (1956), Loving You (1957), Jailhouse Rock (1957), King Creole (1958) and G.I. Blues (1960). This album features The King of Rock & Roll at his best in splendid musical productions that range from ballads to frantic rock and roll.
