Quick Overview

Sadness Makes Me Less Unkind is the first album by Pale Preacher, artistic name of Francisco Galacho, singer and guitarist of the Malaga band The Blackberry Clouds. With this solo work, the author deepens as a composer and performer in the influences already evident in the second stage of The Blackberry Clouds, which began with Dry Wind (2012) -the first LP in which he assumed the role of lead singer and songwriter- and continued with Blood on her Boots… (2016) and Farewell Songs (2018), the latter two published by Clifford. On the one hand, it is music inspired by American roots, with a predilection for country and folk, and with artists like Townes Van Zandt or Johnny Cash from American Recordings as references; on the other, in the alternative rock of bands like The Sadies or Hugo Race & the True Spirit, which start from those "roots" to open new musical paths. Being the composer and practicing as a multi-instrumentalist, Francisco has been able to unleash his creativity, showing a greater desire for experimentation and interest in exploring different registers and styles. Sadness Makes Me Less Unkind is, therefore, a consciously eclectic album.
