Mixing Martines is the new project of the musician José Martínez Bonham. In addition to José Bonham, on this occasion as a singer, the Mixing Martines band is completed by the galicians Fredo Suárez (bass), Fredy Besteiro (guitar), Brais Villar (drums) and Fran Castro (keyboards and choirs), in addition to the Londoner Dave Hernández (guitar and backing vocals). Mixing Martines and Vital Landscape represent a new step forward in the career of José Bonham, who has been a sound technician and artistic and musical producer in Galicia for more than two decades. Also known for teaching sound courses and master classes at the Escola de Imaxe e Son (EIS) in A Coruña, artists such as Xoel López, Los Satélites, Miguel Costas, Samesugas, Nashgul, Ekkaia, The Majestics, Herdeiros da Crus and many others. others have recorded with him. Drummer with a renowned track record, with collaborations over the years with different groups from the Galician and state scene, Mixing Martines is a new way of continuing to do what José Bonham has always offered: good music, although now from another point of the stage. Vital Landscape is a project that was developed in the midst of a pandemic, while professionals in the artistic and cultural sector were going through a moment of extraordinary hardship. However, Bonham explains that the germ of the album was planted more than two decades ago. “These are themes that I have been composing for all these years. I took advantage of that time of the pandemic to record and improve them, with the invaluable help of Dave Hernández with the English lyrics”, he comments.
