Quick Overview

The remembered compilation Heart of Hearts, also known as The Spanish Album, finally on vinyl! A rarity in the discography of Nikki Sudden and Dave Kusworth that appeared in our country courtesy of Por Caridad Producciones, organizers of some of their Spanish concerts. The material, as always, excellent, that mix between melancholy, Stonian structures and a hypnotic loop a la Marc Bolan that they knew how to solve so well, supported by some Jacobites who are more than compliant: the bassist, Carl Eugene Picôt, even dared to compose together with them one of the best songs of the lot, "Don't You Ever Leave Me." What to say about a group album? What does not disappoint? That when Nikki and Dave decided to connect their drugged brain waves there was pure magic? Plain words, no doubt. These guys didn't usually fail, and they didn't by picking out discards, rarities, and hidden pearls from their production. Start the initial "Can’t You See" and feel again the warm sensation of stepping on friendly territory. The rest, exquisite melodies and beautiful guitar games, supported by tasteful details courtesy of keyboardist Terry Miles, exquisite on Hammond and piano. "She Belongs to you", "Travellin European Blues", "Love Cascade" ... ten class demonstrations, of a class that is lost in time and that records like this allow you to tie. Be careful, don't let any owner of the original CD get rid of it, here the precious "Puppeteer’s Son" is missing ...
